Vampire Knight Question

Hi :- ) how come there are 13 books but only 26 episodes?

Hello there :) You see, it kinda bugs me that there are 13 book, and only 26 episodes. If we take an example as shugo chara, there are 12 books and 102 (101?) episodes. Isn't this a little wierd?
